Tokiwa Koen Park (Hokkaido)
Tokiwa Koen Park was first opened in 1910 in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. Visitors to the park can take part in a number of activities, such as viewing the sculptures that dot the park while taking a walk or riding one of the rowboats on Chidorigaike Pond. One of the allures of this park are the colorful plants that decorate it, including cherry blossoms, wisterias, tulips, lotus, and autumn leaves, creating a different type of scenery in each season. In addition, there is an open space within the park that is used as a social and event venue. Throughout the year various events are held here, such as food marches, fireworks displays, and the Asahikawa Winter Festival. Facilities such as the Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art and Central Library are also set up, so visitors can easily spend a whole day here without getting bored.
