A very impressive building that is able to hold 10 000 excited Sumo fans. The tournaments are held in January, May and September. If you did not manage to order tickets online then there is still an option. Each morning during the tournament period the arena starts selling the cheapest tickets to the back seats at 7:45 in the morning. While being the furthest away from the fighting ring, you are still able to see everything and enjoy the atmosphere of the stadium. However, already at 6:00 a line starts forming so be ready to arrive here around that time. There is also a small Sumo museum inside with free admission. The Sumo is very unique cultural experience that is definitely worth witnessing, but unfortunately there is not much to do here outside the tournament period.
