Kyushu Railway History Museum
The Kyushu Railway History Museum is located in the brickwork building of the former Kyushu Railways headquarters. In the main building, there is a display of reconstructed railway cars from the Meiji era as well as a driving simulation where participants travel between Orio and Mojiko Port, which is sure to be fun for the whole family. The model is a reconstruction of Kyushu's railway network, and the train car representing Japan Railways Kyushu is equipped with narration. There are cameras set up within the models, so visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the world of railways. In the railroad car exhibit area, nine railroad cars that played an active role in Kyushu in the past are displayed, and the retro design will allow visitors to really feel the history. Popular among children is the Miniature Train Park. Stoplights and rails have been reconstructed here to look just like the real thing, and with a small fee visitors can actually ride on a small railway car and try their hand at driving. Take a visit to the Kyushu Railway and History Museum and fully experience the allure of trains.
