Kimbuchi Forest Park
Kimbuchi Forest Park has a beautiful natural environment, and its open lawn is used for the nature education of young people as well as a recreational area for prefectural citizens. The park is also equipped with a forest education exhibition building, a campground, a kids area, a rest house, and other facilities. Known as the "water and green and flower park," children and adults alike can enjoy spending time here.
The park bustles with people wanting to see the blossoms of over 5,000 cherry trees in spring, followed by the changing colors of the trees and chrysanthemum displays in autumn. In spring, the park boasts the brilliantly colored blooming of Yoshino, yamazakura, and yaezakura cherry trees. For a span of about 500 meters, both sides of the main street are lined with these cherry trees, creating a tunnel of cherry blossoms and a well-known place for large crowds of hanami goers. The open lawn within the park can also be used for picnics, and lots of people eating lunch and enjoying hanami can be seen here. On top of that, at night the area is lit up by paper lanterns, resulting in a magical atmosphere different from that of the daytime. Don't miss the beauty of yozakura (night blossoms) lit up in the dark!
