Hirakubosaki Todai Lighthouse
The Hirakubosaki Todai Lighthouse is located at the northernmost tip of Ishigakijima Island. The interweaving scenery of the deep blue of the sky and sea, the green of the grasslands, and the white walls of the lighthouse have made it a popular observation spot. Gazing out from the lighthouse, to the right is the Pacific Ocean and to the left is the East China Sea. Hirakubosaki Todai Lighthouse has also been chosen as a Koisuru Lighthouse, or "lighthouse of love." The scenery at Hirakubosaki Todai Lighthouse is quite beautiful at any time of day: the light of the early-morning sun reflecting off the ocean makes the water sparkle, and in the evening the surface of the ocean is dyed orange.
