Fujisan World Heritage Center (Shizuoka)
Fujisan World Heritage Center located in Shizuoka prefecture commemorates Mt. Fuji’s entry onto UNESCO’s World Heritage list in June 2013. Inside the center, you can find exhibitions facilities displaying multilingual information about Mt. Fuji’s World Heritage sites and their history, culture and the natural environment in which it exists, from a number of different interesting angles. Also, the facility has a spiraling slope that goes from the 1st floor up to the 5th floor with real video footage from the mountain on its slopes which allow you to have a virtual mountain climbing experience! On the top floor exhibition space, you can find a beautiful reconstruction of Mt. Fuji which almost looks like a giant painting on the wall for you to gaze at. From dusk there is a light-up of this which gives Mt. Fuji a mystical atmosphere to it, so please do check it out while you are there!
