Tsugaruhan Neputamura Village
Tsugaruhan Neputamura Village is a facility full of things to see and experiences, such as Tsugaru-jamisen, the local handicrafts of Tsugaru, and not least the Hirosaki Neputa, which have been designated as important intangible folk cultural property. "Neputa" is the name given to the summer festivals that take place all over Aomori Prefecture. At the Hirosaki Neputa Hall, you can marvel at the two large-scale Neputa floats and the performances of traditional Japanese "hayashi" festival music. The Tsugaru Craft Center "Takumi" offers the chance to see and experience the crafting of Tsugaru pottery, Tsugaru lacquerware, and Kogin-sashi needlework. At the Tsugaru-jamisen Sangendo, you can listen to live performances and try out playing the Tsugaru-jamisen for yourselves. In addition, there is an area for playing with traditional spinning tops, a crafting area, a restaurant, shops and a farmer's market selling local produce such as apples, as well as the extraordinarily beautiful Oishi Bugaku-ryu garden. Why not experience the culture and food of Tsugaru for yourself at the Tsugaru-han Neputa Village.
