Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium
The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is split into the North Building and the South Building, and both have a variety of sea creatures to see.
The North Building mainly consists of mammals, such as orcas, seals, dolphins, and beluga whales. The orcas are especially rare; they can only be seen in two aquariums in all of Japan. At the orca pool, visitors can watch the large animals from close range on the second floor. On the third floor, there are scheduled exhibitions of orca training open for public viewing.
The South Building's theme is "A Journey to the Antarctic," and here you can see animals from the waters around Japan, the Australian waterfront, the equatorial ocean, and the Antarctic ocean, as well as deep sea creatures. In this part of the aquarium you'll find cruising sea turtles, picturesque penguins, drifting jellyfish, and a relaxing atmosphere.
With performances by dolphins, orcas, and beluga whales as well as public feeding times for penguins, sea turtles, and seals, there are any number of exciting shows, and you'll be sure to enjoy spending time in the world of the sea creatures.
