Otaguro Koen Park
Otaguro Koen Park in Suginami is the remains of the mansion of Otaguro Moto, who worked as a music critic. When his surviving family members donated the park to Suginami, it was opened as a Japanese teien garden. Passing through the gate, 100-year-old ginkgo trees line both sides of a granite path; the center of the park is a strolling garden that utilizes the gently rolling natural terrain. A Western-style building that Otaguro Moto used as a workroom has been preserved as a memorial hall, and a Steinway piano, gramophone, and other things he favored during his lifetime are still there today.
