Located in the Pokopen Yokocho district of Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, Omoide Soko is a small museum of retro curiosities from the Showa period (1926-1989). The museum recreates a nostalgic atmosphere with old-fashioned furniture, designs, and trinkets, allowing visitors to feel like they have stepped into the past. The museum also includes the Maboroshi Shotengai, or “phantom shopping street,” which sports re-creations of storefronts from the 50s and 60s, such as a barbershop, tobacco shop, pharmacy, and police box.
