Mt. Nokogiri’s name stems from the fact that the traces left by quarrying look like a saw (nokogiri). There are various scenic spots such as “hell peeping” that gets a perfect score for thrills, where you can easily rise to the top on a ropeway and peep down from the precipice, Japan’s largest stone Great Buddha, and a statue of Kannon cut of the stone.
