Mt. Kanpuzan Rotating Observatory
At the Mount Kampu Rotating Observation Deck, you can look out over the beautiful view that since days of old has been described as "One of the three most beautiful landscapes in the world." The observation room on the fourth floor offers a panoramic view of 360 degrees and makes a full rotation in 13 minutes. You will be able to enjoy different natural landscapes in each direction. To the south, you can see the coastline and Mount Chokai that continue from the city of Akita to the Oga Peninsula. To the west, you will see the highest mountain in the Oga Peninsula, Mount Mayama, which is the birthplace of Namahaga, and the scenic area of Nyudozaki. To the north, you can find the Port of Noshiro and the Shirakami Sanchi Mountain Range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the east, you can see the village of Ogata, which has reclaimed Lake Hachiro.
