Mantokuji Temple is a Buddhist temple in Obama, Fukui Prefecture. It is most famous for its Japanese garden, which is particularly beautiful during the autumn foliage season. The wooden seated statue of Amida Buddha has been designated an important cultural property and is also worth a look. Mantokuji was constructed on its current site in the early 17th century, but its origins go back even further.
