Mt. Kinka Ropeway
The Mt. Kinka Ropeway in Gifu Prefecture connects Gifu Koen Park with Mt. Kinkazan. A ride of just a few minutes will take passengers through beautiful scenery and up to an elevation of 329 meters. The summit station boasts a number of attractions, including Gifu Castle, an observation deck and restaurant, and the Mt. Kinka Squirrel Village, where visitors can feed squirrels. After heading back down, visitors can stop by the Gifu City Museum of History at the base of the mountain. During the summer months, the ropeway operates after dark as well, and the nighttime scenery seen from the summit is especially spectacular.
