Keage Incline is the name of a 582 meter (1909 ft) long slope with old railroad tracks running up it, located near the Nanzenji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto. It is the longest inclined train track in the world! Used between 1891 and 1948, it was the line of transport between Lake Biwa Canal and Kyoto for carrying a variety of things from passengers to materials for industrialization. Now famous for viewing the cherry blossoms, get some great photos during your stay in Kyoto.
