The shrine is located next to Nara park so there is a real chance of seeing deer roaming around the area. The shrine itself is a stunning example of the countries dedication to Shinto. Some smaller shrines are quite subdued whereas Kasuga Taishi is rather bold. It looks exactly like how the stories said it was built: almost mythical. I happened to go on a very rainy day which did ruin the experience a little as there is trek to get to the shrine itself.
