Iwakuni Art Museum
The Iwakuni Art Museum displays traditional Japanese culture, works of art, and rare weapons. Its collection features over 6,000 items, including ceramics and glass crafts ranging from the Nara period to the Edo period (710-1867) as well as armors and harnesses used by the samurai of the Sengoku period. There are also several eccentric helmets that were also exhibited at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. The permanent exhibition consists of approximately 200 items, and there are also rotating special exhibitions and featured displays. There are a number of works that can only be seen at the Iwakuni Art Museum, so make sure to stop by.
