History
Hakozakigu Shrine was built about 1000 years ago. It is devoted to the venerated deity Hachiman who is worshiped at more than 40,000 shrines throughout Japan. Because of its size and history, it is considered one of the three most important Hachiman shrines. Hachiman is well-known for being a deity worshipped by samurai and others who pray for victory.
