What we'll do
Maoka-railway is started in 1912 and located 70km north of Tokyo, now one of the Steam-locomotive running railway in Japan. The railway length is 41.9 km from Shimodate station to Notegi station with 17stations. Almost on every weekend and national holidays the steam-locomotive train makes one round-trip a day. You can enjoy not only riding the nostalgic train but also seeing the beautiful local scenery.

Notes：
It will be very crowded while Mashiko pottery fair that will be held from April 27th to May 6th and the beginning of November.
Please book this tour one week before actual riding date for arranging the ticket.
The minimum number of participants for this tour is two.
Regarding Lunch at Motegi-town for the special food eating people, It is very difficult to get Vegan food, Halal food and any other food required by medical reasons, because Motegi-town is a very local and small town.
So If you have the special food requirements, please bring lunch by yourself.

1Oyama station
Change line to Hitachi line to Shimodate station

2Shimodate station
Get on The steam-locomotive(SL) train "Mooka-gou" departing at 10:35AM Before get on the train you can take photos of the SL train for 20 minutes.

3Arriving at Motegi station
You can watch railway turntable operation which change the direction of the steam locomotive. For the lunch, there is a couple of local restaurants around Motegi-station. In one of these restaurants, you can enjoy Japanese traditional "Soba"(Buck wheat noodles) lunch. After lunch, we will get on the one car diesel train departing at 13:22PM to Mooka station.

4Mooka station and SL Kyuroku-kan(SL Museum)
The construction of SL Kyuroku-kan(SL museum) and SL running project that was originally planned to revitalize local towns and cities along Mooka- line. you can enjoy driving SL attraction and observing several old steam and diesel locomotives. There is a small Museum shop, you can buy railway related goods and foods. After enjoying attractions for one hour, we will get on the SL train at 15:28PM and back to Shimodate station.
