Zushi Beach
Zushi Beach is a family-friendly beach in Kanagawa Prefecture, and easy access from Tokyo and Yokohama makes it one of the most popular beaches in the area. The waters at the beach are relatively shallow and the waves are small and gentle, so the beach is a great place for kids and beginner swimmers. There are also lifeguards and emergency stations right on the beach, and children’s life jackets are available for free rental.
The beach is not just for families, though—it’s also a popular day-trip destination for couples and groups of friends. The 850-meter stretch of beach is home to around 40 beach houses, which open for business in summer along with the swimming area. These beach houses include everything from shower rooms to rest areas to restaurants to bars, and at them visitors can enjoy a variety of food and drinks during a break from swimming or while gazing out at the seascape.
