The factory’s precise quality was highly praised, especially among the foreign countries which coveted Asian silk. Furthermore, adopting a combination of French construction techniques and Japan’s unique silk milling methods, Tomioka Silk Mill was admired as one of the world’s largest silk mills in its era.
