Todoroki no Taki Waterfall
Located in the southern part of Tokushima Prefecture, Todoroki no Taki Waterfall has a drop of about 58 meters, making it the largest waterfall in the prefecture; it is also counted as one of the One Hundred Waterfalls of Japan. It is a mysterious waterfall surrounded by cliffs in the mountain recesses, and the sounds of the waterfall echoing and resounding on the cliffs leaves a lasting impression. Upstream of the main waterfall is a double waterfall, and including these and several other waterfalls of various sizes nearby are called Todoroki Kujuku Taki. The distance between the main waterfall and the uppermost falls is about 1,500 meters of mountain road, but walking leisurely on the path will take about two hours round trip.
Visitors should note that the closest parking lot to the waterfall can only be accessed via narrow mountain roads, and when the weather is bad they are sometimes closed due to landslides, so be sure to check the traffic and weather reports before visiting.
