Nankin Machi Chinatown
This Chinatown district in Kobe is not only famous for its historical and cultural significance, but also its position as a superb tourist destination. The primary attraction to this area is the food, food, food. With over 100 restaurants, and even more street vendors to count, you will never grow tired of all the food Nankin Machi has to offer. Traditional dishes such as dim sum, steamed buns, duck wraps, and even Chinese interpretations of western styled food – this community will keep your stomach full for days to come. It’s without a doubt that you must come here hungry and ready to eat.
With a population of around 10,000 people, Nankin Machi also functions as a full town clothing store, thrift shop, and as you guess by the abundance of food, a grocery shop! Aside from the glorious food, you can also explore the nearby shrines and temples, especially during the mystical festivals held during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
