Matengai Cliff
Matengai Cliff is one of Japan's foremost sea cliffs, with a sheer vertical drop of 257 meters to sea level. The cliffs are said to be the largest scenic spot in the Oki Islands, designated as part of the Daisen-Oki National Park. One excellent way to enjoy Matengai Cliff is via the Kuniga Kaigan Coast sightseeing boats; passengers aboard can gaze up at the meadows at the top of the cliffs. On these pastures, horses and cattle can be seen grazing peacefully. Another beautiful view is Tsutenkyo, the last point of the Matengai Promenade, which has been chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Sunset Spots. The sunset at Kannon-Iwa, also known as Candle Rock, is one you'll want to see at least once in your lifetime.
