Lake Biwa Museum
Lake Biwa Museum in Shiga prefecture, focuses on the life of Japan's largest freshwater lake, Lake Biwa (or biwako in Japanese). Doubling as a museum and an aquarium, it hosts one of Japan's largest freshwater aquariums. Visitors will be able to learn about the history of life surrounding the lake as well as have a chance to see the kinds of fish currently inhabiting the lake as they go about their daily lives. With especially beautiful sights, like a panoramic glass tunnel that visitors can walk through which makes it seem as if they were underwater, Lake Biwa Museum is certainly well worth a visit.
