The Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza is a popular modern shopping center just south of Karuizawa train station. Quite unlike many of the shopping malls in Japan's metropolitan areas, this shopping plaza is very spacious, being designed more like a park or resort and blending in nicely with Karuizawa's natural scenery. The shopping plaza features outlet stores by Japanese and international brands which offer regular discounts and often have items on sale. This makes it a popular destination for shoppers from cities as far away as Tokyo, especially on weekends. There are also multiple coffee shops and dining options available on site, for when you need a break during your shopping spree.
