Hyuga Keishuen Garden
At Hyuga Keishuen Garden, located in Miyazaki Prefectural Comprehensive Sports Park, visitors can enjoy many scenic spots all at one time. It consists of a hill and an authentic Japanese-style garden where visitors can get a sense of the local atmosphere.
Near the entrance, there is a hill called “Fudoki no Oka”. Visitors can also find three replicas of old mounds at Saitobaru cluster of burial mounds.
North of the pond, there is an island called “Kame-jima” that is shaped like a turtle and in the east, visitors can take a rest at the island called “Naka no Shima” that looks out across the garden.
There is also a waterfall imitating “Manai no taki”, originally located in the sacred ground Takachiho where it is believed that gods have arrived at, and an arrangement of rocks named “Nanatsubae”, located in Nichinan Kaigan, a scenic seashore. A visit to Shobu Garden is also highly recommended to see the 8,000 purple flowers in bloom.
With a stream and tea house, the atmosphere there is composed, making it the perfect place for tea ceremonies and cherry-blossom viewings that are sometimes held there. It is a recommended place for those who want to spend a calm and relaxing time.
