Dotonbori Street
Dotonbori Street is a popular shopping area in Osaka known for its bustling atmosphere and its many neon lights at night, including the famous Glico man, a symbol of Osaka. The Dotonbori arcade is perfect for shopping, dining and entertainment. It's not that you can't find the things here anywhere else, it's just that you can't find them condensed in such a lively and packed space anywhere else. It's certainly a distinctively Osaka experience you shouldn't miss out on, unless you really hate crowds.

Even post-covid, Dotonbori street fails to disappoint. I found myself there multiple times on my trip to Osaka. There are many stalls, shops and restaurants showcasing many types of dishes. I had traditional Osakan dishes like Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki which I would definitely recommend.

Dotonbori Street is one of the busiest streets in Osaka. The street is filled with local restaurants and shops. It gets really crowded at night, but I enjoyed its lively ambience. There’s also a river that runs along the street and it’s a great spot to take photos with bunch of neon light signs in the background. I recommend going out to this street at night and experience Osaka’s night life.

An incredibly lively street with hundreds of neon lights and advertisements that will give you a blade runner-esque feeling especially at night. Not many places on earth offer such a variety of delicious food options in such a small space. From the always hot Takoyaki to rich Okonomiyaki, any person will find something here to quell his hunger. Nearby you will also find plenty of shopping and entertainment options. Quite packed most of the times but definitely worth visiting this iconic area.
