Aomori Misawa Aviation Science Museum
The Misawa Aviation and Science Museum is an aviation museum in Aomori prefecture that has a total floor space of 10,890 square meters and is proudly the greatest in scale in Japan. In the aviation zone, you can find Miss Veedol (restored aircraft) that took off from Misawa City and was the first in the world to traverse the Pacific Ocean, the first generation domestically produced passenger plane, YS-11 (actual aircraft), and the Koken long-range research plane (restored aircraft). In the Science zone, there is the "Lunar Gravity Simulator" and the "Flight Simulator." There are also scientific experiment workshops that hold "Science Shows", and kids can experience various science phenomena. In addition, there are 11 actual aircraft from Japan and America, such as the Japan Self-Defense Force aircraft (T-2 Blue Impulse), and US military aircraft (F-16A), on display in front of Misawa City's open space in front of the museum. There is also a playground for kids so the fun can be had by the whole family. This establishment is especially recommended for people who are interested in aircraft and science.
