Aharen Beach
Aharen Beach is the main beach of Tokashiki Island, and it boasts 800 meters of smooth, white sand. The water at this beach is surprisingly transparent, and the contrast between the bright blue water and the pure white sand makes for a picturesque, tropical paradise landscape.
The beach is located in an inlet, making the waves relatively gentle and therefore a good place for anyone to swim, including children and beginner swimmers. It is also, however, known as a popular snorkeling spot. Even in the designated swimming area one can see coral reefs and tropical fish that are hard to find on the main islands of Okinawa.
The beach is open for regular swimming from June until late November; from December, visitors can still swim, but they are required to wear wetsuits. The beach is also equipped with plenty of facilities and rental shops that offer restrooms, showers, parasols, floating tubes, and more. There are also other marine activities that visitors can take advantage of, such as banana boat tubing and more, so there is plenty to keep you entertained for a whole day or more.
