Located in Nishiaizu-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, Torioi Kannon (Nyoho-ji Temple) is counted as one of the Japan Heritage Aizu 33 Kannon. The principal image of this temple, a standing wooden Sho Kannon statue, is usually withheld from public view. Except on special occasions, it is kept behind a closed curtain and visitors are not allowed to pay respects directly.
In this video, a priest of Nyoho-ji Temple will talk about this specially unveiled Kannon statue.
